Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge SAR Values Briefly Listed on Company Site.
Samsung's SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) value listing page for a handset with a model name thought to correspond to the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge curved-display variant of the Galaxy S6 inadvertently went live ahead of the launch. The listing page for the handset was pulled down soon after however.
The SAR value listing comes just few days after the purported support pages for the same models Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge were spotted on the Internet.
First spotted by Mobiltelefon, the SM-G925F and SM-G925FQ models of the Galaxy S6 Edge were listed on the company's SAR value page, and the model names correspond to what is expected to be the European variant based on a previous report, which gives the Galaxy S6 a SM-G920F model name.
According to Samsung's SAR Value page (now pulled down), the head SAR value of the Galaxy S6 Edge (and Galaxy S6) is 0.306 W/kg while the body SAR value is 0.409 W/kg. As GSMArena notes, this is significantly lower than most flagship handsets in the market, including the Galaxy S5 and iPhone 6.
Samsung last week started sending invites for its Galaxy Unpacked 2015 event scheduled for March 1, where the South Korean company is likely to launch the Samsung Galaxy S6 flagship and Galaxy S Edge, the curved-display variant of the flagship handset.
A recent leak tipped European pricing for Samsung Galaxy S6 - it is said to start at EUR 749 (approximately Rs. 52,500) for the 32GB model, EUR 849 (approximately Rs. 59,500) for the 64GB model, and EUR 949 (approximately Rs. 66,500) for the 128GB model. As for Galaxy S Edge, it is said to start at EUR 949 for the 64GB model and EUR 1049 (approximately Rs. 73,385) for the 128GB model.
The event might be weeks away and going by Samsung's standards, any possible pricing of the next flagship will not be revealed until the handset hits the market shelves. We want to remind readers that nothing is official yet, and that all such leaks must be taken with a pinch of salt.
